How to use the yes or no wheel

  1. Think of a question that can be answered with yes or no. Say it out loud, or type it in the Wheel title box, such as “Should we go to the park?”
  2. Press Spin or tap the wheel.
  3. The wheel lands on Yes or No. That is your answer.

Want more than two answers? Use the quick lists above the entry box to switch to Yes, No or Maybe, or to add “Ask again later” for a playful twist.

Good questions for a yes or no spin

The wheel works best for small choices where either answer is fine and you just want to stop going back and forth. For example:

  • Should I wear the blue shirt today?
  • Do we order dessert?
  • Do I start with the easy homework first?
  • Should we take the long way home?
  • Is tonight a good night for a film?

If you are choosing between two named options, such as pizza or pasta, you can type those two words instead of Yes and No. For more than two options, try the decision wheel.

Is it really 50/50?

With two entries, yes. Each answer has exactly the same chance, picked with your browser’s built-in secure random numbers. Add Maybe and each answer has a one in three chance.

If you want the wheel to lean one way, add that answer twice. With Yes, Yes and No on the wheel, Yes comes up about two times out of three. The “Lean to Yes” quick list sets this up in one tap.

A trick for when you really cannot decide

Spin once and notice how you feel the moment the wheel stops. If you feel relief, go with it. If you feel a little let down, you have just learned that you wanted the other answer all along. Either way, you now know what to do.

Play best of three

For a choice that matters a bit more, spin three times and go with the answer that wins twice. The Results tab lists every answer in order, so nobody has to keep count in their head.

Use it with a group

Spinning in front of everyone makes the answer feel fair, because nobody can say you chose the one you wanted. Put the wheel on a big screen with Full screen, read out the question, and let the room watch it land.

When not to use a wheel

A wheel is a fun way to settle everyday questions. For big choices about health, money, safety or other people, take your time, get the facts and talk to someone you trust.

Questions people ask

Is the yes or no wheel 50/50?

Yes. With Yes and No on the wheel, each answer has exactly the same chance, one in two. The pick comes from your browser’s secure random number generator.

Can I add Maybe?

Yes. Press "Yes, No or Maybe" above the entry box, or type Maybe on a new line. Each answer then has a one in three chance.

Can I make Yes more likely?

Add Yes twice. With two Yes slices and one No slice, Yes comes up about two times out of three. The "Lean to Yes" list does this for you.

Can I put my question on the wheel?

Type it in the Wheel title box. It shows above the wheel, including in full screen mode, so everyone can see what you asked.

Is a yes or no wheel good for big decisions?

It is great for small, everyday choices where either answer is fine. For anything serious, such as health, money or safety, take your time and get proper advice.

Does the wheel remember past answers?

Each answer is saved in the Results tab with the time, in this browser only. Past spins never change the next one: every spin is a fresh pick.
