How to use the NFL team wheel
- The wheel starts with all 32 teams.
- Press Spin, click the wheel, or press Ctrl + Enter.
- The pop-up shows the team. Press "Remove this entry" if that team should not come up again.
- To start over with the full league, press the "All 32 teams" quick list.
Long team names may be shortened on the slices, but the full name always shows in the pop-up after a spin.
Ways to use a random team
- Pick a team to follow: new to football? Spin and follow the team you land on for a season.
- Game night: give each player a random team to play as in a football video game or a table game.
- Watch parties: spin for each guest, and everyone cheers for their team that weekend.
- Trivia: spin a team and see who can name its home city, its stadium or a famous player.
- Class projects: spin a team and research the city it plays in.
Draft order and league setup
For a fantasy league draft order, the wheel works with your own list. Clear the entry box and type the names of the people in your league. Spin for the first pick, then press "Remove and spin again" until everyone has a place. The Results tab keeps the order, and Copy results puts it into your group chat in one go. Press Full screen to show the draw to everyone at once.
One team each, no repeats
To hand out a different team to each person, spin once per person and remove the team after each spin. With 32 teams, a group of up to 32 people can each get their own. If you make a mistake, press Undo in the message at the bottom of the tool.
Show it to the room
Press Full screen to show a big wheel on a TV or a projector at a party or a watch night. Turn the sound on for a tick as each team passes the pointer and a short tune at the end. Every result is kept in the Results tab, with the time it was picked.
Names only
The wheel uses team names only, with no logos and no team colors. Spin a Name is not affiliated with the NFL or with any team, and the team names are trademarks of their owners. Where the list comes from is shown under the wheel.
The picks use your browser's secure random numbers, so every team has the same chance, whatever its record. Need to split players into sides instead? Use the random team generator.
