How templates work
Each template opens a wheel that is already filled in, so you can spin straight away. Every part is still yours to change: edit the list, rename the wheel, pick new colours, or add and remove entries. Nothing you change on a template page affects anyone else, and the next visitor sees the same starting list you did.
Why start from a template?
Typing the same list again and again is slow, especially on a phone. A template gives you a tested starting point: the right entries, a clear title and colours that are easy to read. Some lists take a long time to build by hand, such as every country in the world or a set of kind truth or dare prompts. With a template, you only change the parts that are different for you.
Choosing the right wheel
- For quick answers: the yes or no wheel and the decision wheel.
- For people: the random name picker, the classroom name picker and the giveaway picker. The classroom one comes with class jobs and brain breaks. The giveaway one can pull @names out of pasted comments.
- For numbers and letters: the number wheel takes any range you set, and the letter wheel does the alphabet, vowels or consonants.
- For home and fun: the what to eat wheel, the chore wheel, the truth or dare wheel and the country wheel.
- For groups: the random team generator splits a list of names into teams. It is not a wheel, but it uses the same fair random picks.
Turn a template into your own wheel
Start from the closest template and change the entries. Then open the Saved tab, give the wheel a name and press Save. Next time, load it from the Saved tab on any wheel page of this site, in the same browser. To give it to someone else, press Share link and send them the link.
Quick lists inside templates
Many templates have quick lists above the entry box, such as Snack time on the food wheel, Vowels on the letter wheel, or each continent on the country wheel. Press one to load it. If you change your mind, press Undo in the message that pops up, and your previous list comes back.
You can also combine lists. Paste two lists into one entry box and the wheel spins them all together. Use Remove duplicates afterwards if the lists overlap.
Missing a template?
If you keep building the same wheel by hand, tell us about it. When several people ask for the same one, we add it. You can reach us from the contact page.
